Yep....It is an oldie but a real GOODIE.......I guess these controls vary a wee bit from the standard.....They may have been rewired slightly since built(?)....It seems to be a bit different than what Seymour Duncan outlines as "standard"..... But I think I have it psyched out. In any event, I will have fun playing with it. Have not been (in my own mind) a bass player since about 1968, but I have fun with the gear within my own limited musical (alleged) abilities.....
I have been impressed enough with the guitars, that I thought I would try a bass as well. Looked for something on eBay, as there are no dealers anywhere near this neck of the woods......Just got it today and wonder if there is a "cheat sheet" for the many knobs.......I must be just a lazy guitar player.....
It is number 434 from 2006. Has Duncan bassline pickups and active tone circuit.
The front knob is clearly a master volume. It has a push/pull, but seems to be something different than a coil splitter----Maybe an active circuit bypass? (It seems to get louder when it is pulled out).
Then it has three small knobs, the middle one being on top of a wider control knob. All 4 knobs have a center detente. It SEEMS like the three smaller ones are, in order, treble, mid and bass, with a cut and boost function. (Though the center one SEEMS to have limited effect). That would make the larger (lower) knob be a blend between the two pickups(?)
And I understand there is a "slap contour", which is adjustable inside the bass.
I do know there are a lot of great sounds in there.......Just want to see if there is more info, esp if there is some added interactive effect of the controls. (I might have a better ear for it if I had a bass amp here to pug into).
Hey....This will help keep me busy while the custom order guitar moves along!
