My buddy Jonathan and I got our gadow custom hollows.  He got his today, I got mine a month or so ago.

We jammed all afternoon, it was kinda really really awesome.

mine's red with fralins and his is cherry sunburst with duncans.

We're both sorta in denial about actually having gadows.

Here's a pic of mine.  I'll try to get a picture of jonathan's soon.

Thanks to Ryan and all the guys at Gadow. Hopefully the denial will wear off soon.

Man.....what timing! grin  I was going to ask if anyone had played the CH with Fralins and Seymor Duncans side by side. You guys may help me make the final decision, so.....what differences in tone did you see? I've played the Nashville, and a CH with Fralin's, and I'm curious as to the difference the S-D's make.

Thanks a million!

Hey Dennis,

We've only played them side by side for an hour or two so far.

we played them on my twin reverb.

I haven't had time to really flesh out my opinions, but so far it seems to me that the duncans have a bit more crunch with both set on humbucker

with one or two of the coils tapped to single, it reminded me more of a fat strat.

I dunno, it's a really tough call between the two.  They both sound great on a gadow and I'd be happy with either. My personal tendency is to lean towards the fralins cause i love the cleaner tone.  That and I already have a strat with duncans on it, so my crunch is satisfied.

Ryan gave john a really good deal though. He said if he wasn't happy with the duncans, he could change them out for fralins for not that much cost.  (basically the difference in price between the two pick up options + some work costs)

Hope that helps.  We'll probably play them more side by side this week. Maybe that'll solidify my opinion.

Thanks Charles! Please let me know what you think after *round two*. I play through a '63 brown face Super Amp. So pretty much any humbucker drives nicely. I did find the Fralin's sounded best with the tone rolled back between 1/8 to 1/4 turn with my amp.

So for all the future Gadow owners out here, do you guys prefer 30wt. or 90wt. ale???

Note: 30wt.=Bass, Fat Tire, or similar ales smiley
90wt.=Guinness Draught. grin

Charles brought some crazy foreign stuff with a pretty high alchohol % shocked But essentially anything that makes dealing with Ryan more bearable is welcome grin

I'm not picky, I'll drink just about whatever someone slides in front of me, beer wise.
I love oatmeal stouts.
