Hello everyone. My name is Bill (bilbal) and I am new to the forum and to Gadow guitars. I recently "purchased" a new Custom Hollow from Nitro-Tone in Boston, MA. I will pick it up Friday when I'm in the city. It's kinda odd the way I decide on the guitar. About 3 weeks ago while on another forum, there was an advertisement for new Suhrs that just arrived at Nitro-Tone. I clicked on the post and saw a beautiful strat that just caught my eye. I ended buying the Suhr and have had it for 3 weeks. I love the way the guitar plays but the sound is...how do I say it, well, horrible. Not knowing that NitroTone had a 30 day return policy, I was trying to sell the guitar for as much as I could get. I was told about the policy and called them. Later, I found this:

I am going to exchange the Suhr for it on Friday. I have played a couple Gadows and really like them. So, hopefully I will like this one. I look forward to spending some time here and getting to know some new people and talk "shop" as much as possible. I have a decision to make between that guitar and one with P90s. How are the P90 equipped Hollows?

I'll see ya around hopefully.

Welcome aboard Bill!  That's a beauty of a CH there, and word on the street is that
Roger is great to deal with.

Can't tell you much about the P90's vs 'buckers, I think that's really a personal preference
for your style, etc.  I have Fralins in my CH and I love 'em.

Hey. Thanks for the welcome Tom. I appreciate it. Yeah, the CH I'm picking up is pretty cool. I just hope the color is a little less bright in person. Basically I have my pick of all the Gadow they have in stock at Nitro-Tone, so, I'm not definite on any one in particular. I will certainly let ya's all know and have pictures tomorrow when I get home.and hopefully a review before too long

Hey

Welcome to the gang. I forgot how cool that tri burst looks! I don't spray that finish very much, that might only be one of 2 or 3 so far. Of course with the new Monterey's I think that finish will be a little more common.

Anywho the buckers with the coil taps will probablly be more versatile but if you're a P 90 fan they're hard to beat!

I have no problem with you discontinuing the tri-color and making mine that much more of a piece of art - LOL!!

To tell ya the truth, I was iffy about the color until I saw it in person this afternoon. It's stunning.

So far I love the guitar. It's much darker than my PRS McCarty with the IRW neck. That's what I like so much about it. Yeah, it has the same double humbucker w/coil tap but it's a completely different guitar. The 59 and Jazz are super pickups. Not one complaint out of me yet, it is a great axe and I must say, a lot better than I expected. It's always nice to be this happy with guitars, amps, etc...

EDIT: Roger and everyone and everything to do with NitroTone is top notch. I strongly recommend them. I know I will certainly be doing more business with them. Actually, I have my eye on the Gries 5 watt head they have in stock right now. Usually when I "have my eye" on something it appears at my house soon after. We'll see.

Thanks for posting the NitroTone pix. They are better than anything I can photograph. I only have my cell phone and it's camera is garbage.

In reponse to what I play through:

Guitars
Gadow Custom Hollow, PRS McCarty Rosewood, PRS CE-22, Ibanez Artcore, Fender Strat, Tokia Tele, Guild GAD-30 acoustic

Pedalboard
Fulltone Clyde, Fulltone Fat Boost, Jauerig DGTM, Fulltone OCD, Fulltone 69, AnalogMan King of Tone, Option5 Destination Rotation, Freakshow Digilog, Option5 Destination Phase

Amplifiers
Dr. Z Maz38Sr head, Dr. Z Route 66 head, Dr. Z Galaxie head

Marshall 2x12 Stereo Cabinet with 75s

There are a few more amps (Gries 5 watter, Bogner XTC, and another SLO), and a guitar (Les Paul Gold Top) that I will be getting before long. Other than them and a few pedals, I'm pretty much set for a rig.

Hey Bill...thanks for the kind words!...and welcome to the family!  grin  ...also the guitar that you bought is a Custom Hollow, not a Classic Hollow.
