Well, I went to buy my first guitar and had made up my mind on exactly what I wanted.  I spent may hours on the weekends listening to the different options out there (you tube is amazing).  I had decided on a stratocaster style guitar that had great reviews and sounded really nice.  Then the sales person mentioned Gadow while I was listening to the product I had picked out.  I really was not interested, but the staff was nice and knowledgable so I let them show it to me.  I looked at it and thought it was the best looking guitar in the store.  Incredible shape, and a beautiful blue finish on an equally beautiful maple top.  Never heard of the brand though.  Based on looks alone I agreed to give it a chance.  The sound was both "warmer" than any single coil I had heard, but clean like a single coil is expected to be.  Long story short, I bought the Gadow over the other guitar and am very happy.  I am now hoping someone can tell me a little about this guitar.
I think it is an American Deluxe with handwound single coils, but I am not 100% sure.  The number is 890 and the serial number is 0902008.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Wakefan

You got a good one Wakefan! Those are the best deals anywhere in the world for a handmade USA guitar. Customer Service is provided by the president of Gadow himself! I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

Wakefan ... Welcome to the family.  I have a Custom Hollow with P-90s and I've had multiple people comment on the clean sound of the axe.  Then when they hold my baby they gawk at the craftmanship.  I've been very curious on how a Deluxe with single coils sounds live.  Enjoy.

Hello Wakefan...and welcome to the Gadow family! You bought an American Deluxe with our handwound pickups....and she was built in February of 2009...and is #890 over all.

The tone of the pickups that you are discribing is exactly what I was shooting for...hoping to make our 3 single coil guitar sound abit different and more versitile.
